Getting to know me ...

My name is Lila Smethurst and I am a 13 year old kid baker from San Antonio, Texas!   I began baking at a very young age by helping my Mom and Nana in the kitchen.  My family loves holidays and, of course, that includes baking!   I began trying new recipes and techniques and baking quickly became my favorite hobby.     In addition to baking, I love Jesus, my family and friends, church youth group, learning and being in school (Go Tigers), my sweet teachers, watching Food Network,  playing tennis, and art! 

My parents have been married for 16 years and have always supported my dreams.   They are loving, helpful and wash all the dishes!   (Kidding, but serious)  My mom runs my social media and is my supply manager.  My dad is the best taste-tester and works tirelessly so we can have a great life.     I have a younger sister named Cora who is 10.  She is kind, funny and adorable... She loves to help me in the kitchen!  My family likes to travel and enjoys being together.  We have a fluffy AussieDoodle dog and two cats who run the house!

When I was 9, I came up with the name and concept for Lila's Butterbomb Bakery, because let's face it... Butter is the bomb!   I created a poster and asked my teacher to hang it up in our third grade classroom, which she gladly did (Thank you, Mrs. Williams)!  Though it did not bring any orders that year, I continued to practice baking.   I have always had big dreams!   For the last few years, I have been offering monthly bake sales, taking custom orders when I can, and building my clientele.  Sharpening my skills and getting to be creative in the kitchen is the best part!  

I have achieved far more than I could have ever imagined already and I'm only just beginning!   

I am honored to have been crowned
